When anxiety seeps into your life, makes it impossible to function normally as it would do otherwise. It happens with most of the people these days. There could be many reasons behind it, but stress is the main when it comes to today’s work life. So, how to deal with it?
We have figured 4 ways to Calm down Anxiety:
1. Attitude of gratitude
Practicing the “Attitude of gratitude” is a complete game changer when it comes to calming your anxiety. Be grateful for what you have and it is not only for the materialistic stuff but people and the situations too. It helps you bring a positive mindset even if you are unhappy with someone’s behavior towards you or the present situation.
The lesser you will blame others and the lesser you will complain about the situations or people around you, the more peaceful mind you will have to work on the problems you are dealing with. You will them focus on what you should be focusing on not the negativity around you. So, make positivity and gratitude a lifestyle change.

2. Be mindful
Practicing mindfulness helps you to be aware of yourself and everything around you in the present moment. Living in the NOW helps your mind to focus on what is in front of you at the time and to concentrate your energy on it. It helps you embrace the present and not worry about the past or future and hence, it calms you down and your anxiety which is usually caused by the worries from the past or the upcoming future.
You can also practice this with other stuff like food. When you are eating, try to focus your mind on the smell, texture, taste, chew it properly with mindfulness, and feel every grain and so on. This will help you focus on what is in front of you.
3. Breathe in and Breathe out
This habit which is also a form of meditation is the most important method you can opt to calm down your anxiety. Breathing in and out help cleanse your body and mind of those negative, exhausting and disturbing thoughts which raise your anxiety and that are not required.
It helps in calming down your mind by focusing on your breathing only. So, make it a new ritual if you haven’t already done this. This practice has a lot of benefits other than these.
4. Write to unwind
Writing down your thoughts when you are anxious helps you clear out your mind. This is also an unwinding habit of many people including me can help you get rid of unwanted thoughts.
Writing is therapeutic and if you haven’t tried it yet then I urge you to try this method. A few problems when written down on a piece of paper give a perspective to see it differently and solve it too that are not getting solved when in mind.
